Terms of Use

Last updated: 18 June 2026
In short: Niyyah is a personal prayer tracker you install on your own iPhone. We don't run an account-based service, we don't sell or share your data, and Niyyah is a tracking tool — never a religious authority.

Acceptance

By downloading or using the Niyyah iPhone app (“Niyyah”, “the app”, “we”, “us”) you agree to these Terms of Use along with our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

What Niyyah is — and isn't

Niyyah helps Muslims track their five daily prayers, build a streak, calculate and make up missed prayers (qada), and view prayer times and qibla direction. Niyyah is a personal tracking tool. It does not issue religious rulings, fatwas, or guidance — please follow your own madhhab and scholars for matters of fiqh.

Your responsibility

You're responsible for the accuracy of what you log, the dates and locations you set, and the religious decisions you make outside the app. Prayer times and qibla are calculated using on-device libraries and the method you select; minor differences from your local mosque are normal, and you should follow your local mosque or community when in doubt.

Niyyah Pro & purchases

The five daily prayers, streak, qibla and reminders are free and will stay free. Niyyah Pro is an optional in-app purchase that unlocks additional features (qada planner, full history & insights, sunnah & tahajjud tracking, widgets). Pro is sold either as an auto-renewing subscription (Monthly or Annual) or a one-time Lifetime purchase, processed by Apple through the App Store.

Subscription terms:

Acceptable use

Don't reverse-engineer, decompile, copy or redistribute the app. Don't use it to harm yourself or others. Don't try to break our intellectual property or trademark rights.

Your data

Niyyah stores your records on your device and (if you enable iCloud) in your own private iCloud container. We don't operate servers, we don't have user accounts, and we never see your data. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Prayer times, qibla direction, and qada calculations are best-effort and may contain errors; you should verify with your local mosque or scholar where it matters.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD $0 if you didn't pay.

Updates & changes

We may update the app and these Terms. Material changes will be reflected in a future app update and at this URL with a new "Last updated" date.

Termination

You can stop using Niyyah at any time by deleting the app. We may discontinue the app at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (disclaimers, liability limits, intellectual property) will survive.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Where local consumer-protection law gives you stronger rights, those rights apply.
